BFTA Instructors Give Back to the Community.
One of the things that makes Boondocks FTA unique is their cadre of instructors. The mark of a good instructor is their dedication and passion to educate, train and help their community. Our Events Page lists all of the nationally known instructors we are hosting in the future. Not only does this provide the best training opportunities to our local community, they are also highly attended by Boondocks instructors who want to “Train with the Best” so they can provide future Boondocks’ students the best experience possible.
Volunteering their time and serving their community
This dedication is also evident in the numerous volunteer efforts conducted by our instructors. Below are just a few examples.
Jeff Williamson
Jeff is a long time 4H volunteer who has helped hundreds of youth learn to appreciate the shooting sports. Jeff also conducts numerous seminars like the recent Refuse to Be a Victim Seminar for seniors at the Brandon Public Library.
Chad Winkler
Recently Chad spoke with a local Boy Scouts troop on Gun Safety and Personal Safety and at a “Forever Young” group at a Brandon Church.
Andy Anderson
Andy is not only an ER Doctor, but he is also one of the most highly trained instructors in the nation. You will find him in almost every single guest instructor training event here at Boondocks, and he still travels to other cities for training opportunities multiple times a year. For the last several years, Andy has conducted a Ballistics Learning Lab for medical students here in Jackson, and has published multiple articles on gun shot wounds for the medical community.
Andy has also recently developed a Tactical Anatomy Class for law enforcement and has offered some classes at no charge.
Kristy Knight
Kristy is not only a phenomenal instructor, but by day, she is an elementary school teacher. Recently she completed the Jones County Law Enforcement with the Academic Excellence, Top Gun, and Top Cop Awards and now, by night she is serving her community as a law enforcement officer.
