Boondocks’ Welcomes A New Instructor
JoAnna Dufrene is not technically new to Boondocks. She has been a frequent attendee of several classes hosted by guest instructors such as Tom Givens, Massad Ayoob, and others. As a staff instructor at FRC in Baton Rouge, JoAnna—affectionately known as “JoJo”—has often referred to Boondocks as her second home.
Recently, a life event brought JoJo to Mississippi as a new resident, and we were quick to invite her to join our cadre of instructors.
Originally from Texas, JoAnna worked at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department as a 911 dispatcher and was also a certified corrections officer. Her impressive credentials include:
-Rangemaster Certified Instructor
-Sage Dynamics Red Dot Instructor
-CSAT Red Dot Instructor
-Gateway Instructor
-MAG 40 Graduate
-MAG 30 Graduate
-NRA Instructor
-NRA Range Safety Officer
-USCCA Instructor
I had the privilege of having JoAnna in my most recent USCCA Instructor Certification class. Having shared the range with her during some of the most advanced training courses in the country, I had no doubt she would excel as a USCCA Instructor. She was the lone female in the class, but her extensive training and experience stood out.
With the completion of this new certification, JoAnna becomes one of the most recent Mississippi Enhanced Carry Instructors and the newest member of the Boondocks instructor team.
