This 1-day class includes both lecture and live fire exercises and is designed to teach the skills needed to counteract an Active Shooter.  The classroom portion includes a lecture on understanding the active shooter problem, planning, and training to minimize victim-count through an effective armed response. On the range, students will participate in specifically designed drills and scenarios that expose students to the skills needed to quickly stop the shooter. This class is intended for concealed carriers, law enforcement officers, and church and/or school security personnel. 

Requirements:

Prerequisite: None; student should be able to safely and effectively operate a handgun from the holster Course Length: 8 Hours

Firearm & Ammo Requirements: Defensive Handgun, Quality Holster, 3 Magazines, 250 Rounds of practice (FMJ) ammo, 10 rounds of carry ammo

Additional information

What to bring:

• Defensive Handgun
• Quality Polymer, Kydex, or other rigid material holster. Strong side hip holsters are preferred, but strong side IWB holsters and appendix carry holsters and cover garments are allowed. Blackhawk SERPA holsters are NOT allowed. Your holster MUST be gun-specific and you MUST be able to re-holster one-handed. The instructor has the final say on if the holster can be used in the course.
• 250 Rounds of FMJ (target) ammunition and 10 rounds of carry ammunition
• 3 magazines
• Magazine holder
• Sunscreen & bug spray
• High neck t-shirt or collared shirt. V-necks, tank tops or loose-fitting shirts do not adequately prevent hot brass from going down your shirt.
• Long pants or knee-length shorts pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets
• Closed-toe boots or tennis shoes. No sandals, flip flops or open-toed shoes are allowed on the range.
